Packing For The First Night in Your Condo

Packing For The First Night in Your Condo

When packing for a move, we sometimes get so absorbed in the process that we end up packing everything. By the time our condo movers in Toronto finish taking the last box inside the new house, we realize we shouldn’t have packed every single item. Whenever you move, keep in mind to save a box or a suitcase of essentials. Pack them separately and keep them in hand, because they will make your relocation much more comfortable. Since moving takes quite a lot of time, you will most likely not feel like unpacking on the first night. The essentials would be enough for a night, and the next day you have plenty of time to unpack. Here is what you should pack for the first night.

Clothes

Keep some spare clothes for all your family members. Include sleeping clothes and something for the next day. This way, you will not have to go buy unnecessary new clothes on the first evening. Movers will make sure to keep your suitcase of essentials separate from the other items if you tell them to. Also, make sure to adapt to the season. Don’t pack summer clothes and thin pajamas if autumn is already here!

Personal hygiene items

From toothbrushes to toilet paper, make sure you don’t skip anything! After your movers in Toronto finish their job and leave your house, you will slowly take out the items in the essential kit. You cannot imagine how many people are annoyed when they realize they forgot to pack toilet paper! It’s a basic product and not having it can really lead to some frustration. Most of the great Toronto movers have at least one funny story regarding toilet paper not being kept handy. Also, don’t forget to pack soap, shower gel, shampoo, towels, and toothpaste. Add to the list any cosmetic product or medicine that your family members are doing treatment with. And since we are still in a pandemic, pack some sanitizer, as well. You will need it for the surfaces and for your peace of mind.

Bedding

Some other things you should keep separate from the items you moving are pillows, blankets, and bedsheets. Not having them on the first night will make the experience a rather unpleasant one. There is also a high chance your bed is not assembled and you will have to sleep on mattresses or yoga mats. Or you can take the easy way out and ask your movers to assemble your bed. There are great Toronto movers who will finish these tasks in minutes – including our crews at Let’s Get Moving. We are so used to assembling and disassembling furniture, it takes us a ridiculously short time to do it. In any case, make sure there is some clean bedding to put on what will be your bed on the first night. Your sleep will be much softer and you will wake up better rested this way.

The first night in your new home is always the most difficult. At least this is what customers usually tell us. But if you follow our recommendations, we are sure you can make it easier.
